She came to this process wanting to see herself differently. Not to perform confidence she didn’t feel, but to find a way back to her own body — to look at what she had been turning away from and let it be something other than shame.

I’ve felt a bit squeamish about my vulva being viewed — like it’s something to hide. I want to see it in a new light and de-stigmatise female anatomy. I want to feel empowered and beautiful and celebrate being a woman.

To her teenage self

Learn to love yourself, and everything else will fall into place.

Unravel is not falling apart. It is the beginning of putting yourself back together on your own terms.
