Tidal Whispers belongs to the Littoral Collection, a body of work shaped by my deep connection to the places where land and sea meet. Growing up by the coast, I spent hours kneeling at the edge of rockpools, listening to the soft pull of water as if it were speaking in its own language. The shoreline always felt alive — not just a place, but a companion that breathed, shifted, and offered comfort.
This painting carries that memory. Built through layered washes of blues, greens, and turquoise, the colours drift and settle across the canvas like tidewater moving over sand. Broad, fluid strokes trace the motion of waves, while softer blends hint at the textures of submerged reefs, reeds, and the quiet life hidden beneath the surface.
Tidal Whispers draws you into a space between the tangible and the ethereal — that suspended moment when the world goes still and all you hear is the hush of water. It speaks to the way nature holds us, how its rhythms steady the body and calm the mind.
Through shifting colour and gentle transparency, the painting captures the constant dialogue between land and sea, and the inner tides we feel within ourselves. It invites viewers to slow down, breathe, and recognise the familiar comfort of a shoreline that has whispered to them too.
