Road Trip

Road Trip is an impressionist acrylic painting created with layered earthy pastels and gentle yet confident markings. It speaks to transition, connection, and the quiet unfolding of inner growth.

The work began during a rite of passage workshop with girls aged thirteen to sixteen, whose honest creative input helped shape its early form. I later completed the piece with respect for their stories and the energy they brought to the process.

While it reflects the shift from girlhood into womanhood, the painting also gestures toward the wider human path of self discovery. Its layered strokes echo the choices and turning points that shape us, and the way mental wellbeing is supported through connection, insight, and agency.

Road Trip acknowledges that healing is rarely linear. It invites viewers to recognise themselves within its movement and to feel part of an ongoing journey of becoming.
